What to expect
- Consult & test — Samah checks your skin type; a quick test pulse if needed.
- Treat — cool gel, protective eyewear, 20–30 minutes of light pulses that feel like a warm snap.
- Days 1–7 — spots darken and 'coffee-ground', then flake off — do not pick.
- Repeat — 3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart, for lasting results.
No downtime beyond mild redness for a few hours. Strict SPF for the series. Not suitable on tanned skin — another reason fall is the season.

Who does your treatment
Samah Haroof, Master Injector, leads S Glowic and does your consultation personally — she'll tell you whether IPL is right for you, or if something else would serve you better. Treatments are performed by Samah or by Raand, our esthetician, in Suite 224, under the protocols of our medical director, Dr. Mohammed Al Haider.
Questions people ask
Is IPL a laser?
No — it's broad-spectrum light filtered to target pigment and redness. It's gentler than resurfacing lasers and has almost no downtime.
Why fall?
IPL needs untanned skin and you must avoid sun during the series. Cooler months make both easy — and you'll have clear skin by the holidays.
Will the spots come back?
Treated spots are gone. New ones depend on sun exposure — SPF daily keeps results.
Does it hurt?
A quick warm snap per pulse, like a rubber band. Numbing isn't needed.
Who shouldn't do IPL?
Very dark or recently tanned skin, pregnancy, or certain medications. Samah screens for all of this at the consultation.
